Syntax are a committee of Peterborough poets who look after the Peterborough Poet Laureate campaign. We also run poetry events and projects from time-to-time.
We joined forces in 2019 to put on an epic month-long festival of poetry & spoken word around the city, funded by Arts Council England. Since then, we’ve been busy behind the scenes managing the poet laureate competition, and running poetry projects both as individuals and as the syntax collective.
We’re not as active at the moment, but if you search any of us on t’internet or socials, you’ll see more recent updates. We still look after the Peterborough Poet Laureate competition, which is back for 2023. It’s probably why you’re here to be honest, since not much else on the website is up-to-date!! Hey, we’re poets, not marketeers.
The Syntax committee is made up of Keely Mills, Charley Genever, Lauren Kendrick, Sandy Wardrop, Kat Beeton, and Scott Coe.
